In this vlog, Joey describes a new film, “Nothing Can Stop You” about a deaf guy who has exhibited incredible amount of passion in the cycling world. During the vlog, he talks about his involvement with the Momentum Cycling Team and Hawk Relay. Robin talks about breaking down barriers and wants to provide the same type of opportunities to deaf kids in this movie presented through Deaf Eyes. In the end, Hawk Relay, Momentum Cycling Team and Robin have teamed up to establish Riding for Deaf Schools fundraiser to raise funds for Deaf Schools. Enjoy!

As promised, here is another vlog to follow up on my “Leaving DeafRead” vlog from yesterday which includes some further thoughts. I remain firm in my stance that DeafRead needs to step up and change as well as raise their own expectations and standards in order to protect our beloved Deaf community. I usually keep my vlogs to under three of four minutes, but this vlog is about 6 1/2 minutes long. I felt it necessary to make this one a little longer to be able to express my thoughts thoroughly. Thank you.
I also would like to refer my viewers to an excellent vlog by Tommy I watched last night about how we can restore proper ethics to the blogosphere by showing each other respect. He also explains why certain critics and hecklers need to stop using loaded terms and stop taking “cheap shots.” Check it out as well! CLICK HERE to watch it.

After reading Patti Durr’s blog this morning, I made up my mind and will join Patti in leaving DeafRead. It was not easy decision but I simply can’t support DeafRead’s mission and vision anymore after watching them approving bashing and destructive v/blogs. That is NOT how the Deaf community works.
