July 28th, 2008 at 10:12pm Joey Baer

In this vlog, Joey describes a new film, “Nothing Can Stop You” about a deaf guy who has exhibited incredible amount of passion in the cycling world. During the vlog, he talks about his involvement with the Momentum Cycling Team and Hawk Relay. Robin talks about breaking down barriers and wants to provide the same type of opportunities to deaf kids in this movie presented through Deaf Eyes. In the end, Hawk Relay, Momentum Cycling Team and Robin have teamed up to establish Riding for Deaf Schools fundraiser to raise funds for Deaf Schools. Enjoy!

Note: “Nothing Can Stop You” video is subtitled.

Excellent initiative with your opening style! I really like it how you endeavour to make your vlogs creative! If it was a deaf swimmer, would you film yourself in your swimming pool!? Heh

Thank you for sharing with us. Very impressed with Robin Horwitz and Hawk Relay Service owner -both DEAF…Wow…about their hard work to help the Deaf schools. They are right, nothing can stop them from doing what they love to do - really inspired me, too. I remember Bill Estes, deaf teacher and coach at Ohio School for the Deaf and also from deaf family did participate riding cycle and running with hearing teams. Hope to see more deaf people showing hearing people that nothing can stop them from doing what they DEAF CAN do anything.

Just another note to point out that the website link is misspelt - ridingfordeafschools.org not ridefordeafschools.org - Another typo I guess…

Off to my garage to get my bike and blow the dust away before repairing it and pedalling away!

Thanks for the alert, the broken link has been fixed.

Ramon - seriously, I probably will do a vlog if it needs me to swim. I will do anything when it comes to creative part - why not! :)

Joey, are you aware that someone named David submitted this entry to DeafRead? I’m appalled, because you made your position very clear, and I feel that both David and DeafRead were disrespectful of your position.

Very inspiring! That’s wonderful! They can meaning WE CAN TOO! :-)

    Observer,

Yes, DeafRead contacted me and informed me about someone submitting my link on DeafRead. In my view, it is beyond my control. I do not believe telling people what to do. As long as I know I am not connected to DeafRead directly, there is not much I can do.

Thanks for letting me know anyway.

    Joey,
Thanks for letting us know. By the way, the link submit isn’t on DeafRead anymore.

Ah Joey, least you could do was put on some real cycling clothes! Or maybe too embarrassed to try them on? Anyway it is a great thing Robin is doing and he makes me jealous cuz I love cycling and have always followed it all my life. For sure, I will be joining the Ride for Deaf Schools event in October. It is a great way to give back to the deaf community and also an excuse for you to buy some real cycling clothes.

Nicely produced video! I will wish Robin and his bicycling team the very best in their endeavors. Plus, it was an unexpected suprise in seeing Suzette again; glad to know she’s doing well.

Nice Vlog! Did you know that there is a Deaf Man in Minnesota that has started his own bicycle company? He is the co-designer / manufacturer / distributor of really cool framesets. Who is this? Sean Virnig…www.rawlandcycles.com

    Miss you on DR!

    Enjoy your ride!!!
