    Hi,

It is so inspiring to see my alma mater supporting ASL as a natural language. I’m an ASL teacher as well. Watching this video, it makes me want to get a job there. I graduated from there 1995. It is so great to see pure ASL from elementary to High School.

Well that was an impressive video, I love it when the deafies DO GET TOGETHER and fight for something.. Too many times deaf prefer to let other people take care of things for them, the end results are pretty diasterous,, now if all the deaf in the USA would get involved we might get more reconiganation,
I agree our ASL is important and yes precious, but as I said ALL deaf ( of all ages ) must FIGHT to preserve it !!!!!!!!!

Good luck and I do hope this vlog makes an impact 😀

    Speaking about cherishing ASL,
They can’t take our language away like that by telling us we can’t sign.

It s like telling the hearing people that they can’t talk at all even in their own languages… it s like taking their voicebox out of their throats…

IT s really RIDICULOUS for them to not recognize this ASL as a language for the DEAF.

A language is a language, may that be any kind of language is important to anyone who can hear or not.

A language is beautiful, may it be in sign language or not.

ASL is our deaf language that we speak with our hands while the others use their voice…

    Enjoy languages that they are…

This is wonderful project, but I was little disappointed that this wasnt broadcasted on CNN or other networks like CBS, NBC, and ABC.

    BEAUTiFUL!
World didn’t change other international’s foreign languges into English completely, verbally. It’s not possible even though they learned to speak English yet they keep their own cultural language.
It will be the SAME for us, Deaf people of SIGN USERS!

Well, what do you expect from my beloved alma mater but the BEST and MOST INSPRING! May others copy what CSDF did for themselves to celebrate, to learn about and to cherish ASL from senior citizens to babies. Thank you, CSDF!

We have to be very careful by saying ASL is number one because that could offend other countires’s sign languages. We need to be humble.

From watching this video, I already wish I had been there. What I see from my DEAF eyes are that CSDF is one of the most unified Deaf schools or Deaf program I have ever seen up to date.

The Deaf unity displayed on that day at CSDF
probably was like that before the Milan Conference when our precious sign language was shut down. The oppressors had their day in the Milan Conference but never again.

This video proves we will never be shut down again, God willing.

I am very proud of all these students who signed naturally in their native ASL how they truly cherish sign language.

They all have heart, soul, and spirit. The heart is where inwardly we can understand what being DEAF is, the eyes are the mirror of the soul, and the spirit keeps ASL alive. Heart, soul, and spirit, live on!
