WOW! you all did a wonderful job on edited videotapes to help us to remember how strong the United for Gallaudet leaders and the Deaf community from all over the world have shown for us and Gallaudet University. What about all Deaf school?
ReplyAdele and Patrick,
I think you captured the ENERGY I felt during this whole crazy and, yes, sometimes wonderful time.
I especially liked the part about how support for the protest grew once everybody looked around and realized that they weren’t alone in feeling the need to support one another in the growing cooperative effort.
Instant global communication coupled with that profound hunger of all d/Deaf to understand… We’ve seen here the birth of a powerful tool to turn d/Deaf Imagination into d/Deaf Reality.
2006–What a year! Felt like laugh and cry at the same time for all that was ever touched by Gallaudet!

ReplyGood job u guys. George Vedltz’s ending was inspiring. How can I see more of him? Very interesting to see old age signing! We’ve come a long way since then!
ReplyGOOOOOOOOSEBUMPS…. WONDERFULLY CHRONICLED, THIS VIDEO WILL BE PUT IN ARCHIVES OF THE DEAF WORLD. NOW I WANT TO SEE MORE POPPING UP FROM OTHER STATES, ESPECIALLLLLLLLY GALLAUDET ITSELF. TRULY INSPIRING VIDEO, PROPS TO THE EDITORS.

Wow…..You made me feel more goosebumped and inspired…..Excellent video….Preserve that video for our future generation!!!!! Joey, keep up!!! I have been watching all your video presentations from beginning ( May). My heart is always with you especially in Bay Area. Leslie Zinza —Happy New Year…..
ReplyExcellent ASL presentation! Gallaudet belongs to Deaf Community and vice versa. Every year I vote a hearing person to be on Community College Board of Trustee. A nail hit my head that we (the deaf community) should be the ones to vote the selection of Gallaudet Board of Trustees.

Adele Ann,
Love your response in ASL. Hope we do more of these in the future!
MikeS,
You can see more of Veditz from THE PRESERVATION OF SIGN LANGUAGE videotape (don’t get the DVD version!!! Everything’s cut too short) by SMI. You’ll also see many others- from the early 1900s!

ReplyMy congratulation goes to Bay Area for outstanding rally to long live Gallaudet University! Adele and Patrick did great job to organize this video!
ReplyWhat’s a beautiful editing! You captured all the important moments and it brought back the memories of the protest. The closing gave me the goose-bumps.
If anybody asks about the protest, I’d send them the URL to this video.
